In September, Multicolores moved into a new office in central Panajachel. Up to this point the Cooperative had operated out of Reyna’s two room apartment, with one room used as her living space, and the other room used for Multicolores’ operations, including rug warehouse!

The new office space offers plenty of space for our operations; there is even a garden for some al fresco rug hooking!

This also allowed us to begin an internship program. This month Reyna offered internships to Virginia Macario (left) from Quiejel and Rosmery Pacheco (right) from Totonicap√°n. Rosmery will assist Reyna with quality control and production and Virginia with project management. The objective of the internship program is to nurture the talent of young, motivated women who have the potential to fill key leadership positions for Multicolores in the future.
