The Art of Being
Multicolores Gallery
Panajachel, Guatamela
Smiles are inevitable when we celebrate mental health! Our program, The Art of Being, designed by our clinical psychologist Nancy Cochoy, provides a space for artists to reflect on their emotions and embrace their personal growth.
This project began as a creative workshop where artists learned to draw faces, culminating in self-portraits that reflect their self-perception. The project aligns with the mental health program, as it visually represents how their self-concept has evolved with psychotherapeutic support.
In 2025, this initiative continues to flourish, offering community visits, workshops, and personalized psychological support for our artists. During their mental health journey the artists have shared stories of resilience and obstacles overcome. These triumphs and reflections will be shared in an exhibition of self portraits, opening at the Multicolores' gallery in Panajachel in the Fall. This will be our first on-site exhibition - an exciting milestone! Stayed tuned for more details on this inspiring project!

The Art of Resilience Project
Durham Art Guild Trust Gallery
Durham, NC
What began as a simple idea blossomed into a stunning tapestry of womanhood, craftsmanship, empowerment, and hope. Susu Hauser, the visionary behind the project, shares:
"This fundraising exhibition featured over 50 artisan pieces, life-size portraits, and cinematic glimpses into local traditions, with proceeds benefiting three nonprofits: Multicolores, WEAVE, and OMBA Arts Trust. A feast for the eyes and a balm for the heart, 'The Art of Resilience' is my gift to our communities in the U.S.—to spark curiosity, inspire, and deepen connections with Indigenous cultures worldwide.”
