"The bird design is inspired by nature and the birds found in the traditional costumes of Santiago Atitlán, where the small details symbolize the huipiles."

This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by María Magdalena Tziná Vásquez, member of the Santiago Atitlán embroidery group.

Hand embroidered wall hanging measures 40 x 48 inches.

Materials:

• The base fabric is made of recycled indigo 'corte'.
• The birds are stitched with colorful cotton threads.
• It features a hanging system of eight loops made from recycled 'corte randa' (trimming).
• The back is patched with different recycled fabrics from paca.

Made in Guatemala.
