"The nahuales, an integral part of Guatemalan culture, represent the 20 days of the Maya calendar, influencing destiny based on the date of birth."

This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by Thelma Esperanza Cubur Solloy de Sec, member of the Sumpango embroidery group.

The 12 nahuales are finely embroidered with a variety of stitches. This is then framed on an indigo cloth. This would brighten up any wall in the home or office.
