This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by Micaela Fabiola Aguilar García, member of the Totonicapán embroidery group.

The birds represent the history of Santiago Atitlán and evoke both nature and traditional Guatemalan clothing. It will look beautiful in your living room, bedroom, or office, thanks to its unique colors and variety of birds.

Materials

The birds are stitched using cotton and lustrina threads on a cream-colored cotton cloth. Each of the 9 birds is unique showing the The border is made of recycled indigo corte fabric, with a hanging system of five loops made from recycled handwoven cloth. The back is made with a patchwork of recycled fabrics.

Care

Spot clean with mild soap and lay flat to dry.
