This work of art was designed and crafted by Felipa Aracely Chuc Yax, member of the Totonicapán embroidery group. This piece is unique and the design is the result of the artist’s creative vision. 

This design draws from nine different traditional women’s garments from Guatemala, highlighting the unique patterns, textures, and details found in each one. Perfect for display in a living room or office, it brings culture, history, and character to any wall.

Materials

The birds are stitched using cotton and lustrina threads on a cream-colored cotton cloth. Each of the 9 birds is unique showing the The border is made of recycled indigo corte fabric, with a hanging system of five loops made from recycled handwoven cloth. The back is made with a patchwork of recycled fabrics.

Care

Spot clean with mild soap and lay flat to dry.
