This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by Micaela Fabiola Aguilar García, member of the Totonicapán embroidery group.

This bird-and-leaf design is embroidered with cotton thread and framed with recycled fabric featuring a traditional “corte” print. Inspired by the geometric motifs found in Guatemalan huipiles, it combines nature and textile artistry in a striking composition. The dark background enhances the vibrant colors and intricate details, making this table runner equally beautiful on a table, hung on a wall, or placed at the foot of a bed.

Materials

The base is made of handwoven traditional recycled indigo corte (cloth).
The design is embroidered with cotton and lustrina thread (embroidery floss) and framed with a colorful recycled traditional coth. The back is lined with recycled colored corte fabric.

Care

Spot clean with mild soap and lay flat to dry.
