This work of art was designed and crafted by Felipa Aracely Chuc Yax, member of the Totonicapán embroidery group. This piece is unique and the design is the result of the artist’s creative vision. 

Featuring colorful birds and leaves embroidered in cotton thread, this piece is bordered with recycled fabric showcasing a traditional “corte” pattern. Drawing inspiration from the geometric designs of Guatemalan huipiles, it celebrates both nature and cultural heritage. Its deep background creates a beautiful contrast, allowing the colors and shapes to stand out. Versatile and decorative, it can be used as a table runner, wall hanging, or bed accent.

Materials

The base is made of handwoven traditional recycled indigo corte (cloth).
The design is embroidered with cotton and lustrina thread (embroidery floss) and framed with a colorful recycled traditional coth. The back is lined with recycled colored corte fabric.

Care

Spot clean with mild soap and lay flat to dry.
