Lucía Encarnación Solís Chuc de Toxcón

Lucia's favorite part of being an artist in Multicolores is being able to embroider the rugs because she enjoys creating the stitches using crochet technique. She likes it because she believes she’s more agile in performing this process.

She gets her inspiration from nature, Guatemalan “Güipiles” (traditional blouses), and geometry.

Lucía feels proud of herself because she can share her knowledge of the technique with the crochet students and has the freedom to participate in activities organized by Multicolores.

“For me, Multicolores is an organization that supports women in generating an income, allowing them to create their artworks from home without having to leave their families.”
