This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by Elsa Lorena Yol Chiquitó, member of the Sumpango embroidery group. Each bird is a work of art showing Elsa's artistry and love of birds.

Materials

The birds are stitched using cotton and lustrina threads on a cream-colored cotton cloth. Each of the 9 birds is unique showing the The border is made of recycled indigo corte fabric, with a hanging system of five loops made from recycled handwoven cloth. The back is made with a patchwork of recycled fabrics.

Elsa Lorena Yol Chiquitó

Elsa has been a Multicolores artist since 2018.

Her favorite aspects of being an artist at Multicolores are combining colors and designing. She enjoys how each piece looks when she finishes it.

Elsa draws inspiration from landscapes, everything around her, and also from spending time with her family.

She feels proud of everything she has known and learned in the association; they have been her achievements.
