This beautiful pillow is made by Ana María Quexel Gonzalez, member of the Sumpango embroidery group.

This design, inspired by the various styles of Mayan women’s clothing, is combined with pink hues that the artist chose as her favorite color. This cushion is ideal for decorating any space in your home, from living rooms to bedrooms.

Materials

The pillow cloth is handwoven traditional recycled indigo fabric (corte) with subtle blue stripes. The embroidery is done with a variety of threads and stitches. There is a hidden zipper on the back side allowing for easy washing. Pillow insert is not included.

Ana María Quexel González

Her favorite aspects of being an artist at Multicolores involves drawing and narrating the stories of her creations, as well as combining colors.

She draws inspiration from her traditional costume and nature to extract designs and portray them in her embroideries.

At the beginning of her journey with Multicolores, she struggled to grasp the technique, but now she takes pride in the progress she has made and the new knowledge she acquires every day.
