Art of being: A self portrait in Embroidery
By Ana María Quexel González
Our grandmothers tell us stories in which our ancestors emerged among flowers. The Flor de Mayo, in particular, symbolizes connection with the spiritual world and purification. In my journey of self-discovery, I have come to understand the importance of reinventing myself and letting go of the negative burdens that prevent me from seeing myself with love. In this way, flowers have become my greatest companions: they remind me that I am a prosperous woman and that I can choose to carry with me only what nurtures my well-being.
