"Metamorphosis"
Art of being: A self portrait in Rug Hooking

My work is inspired by the metamorphosis of the butterfly. Before spreading its wings, the butterfly goes through a time of retreat as a caterpillar—a quiet and patient process in which it gradually prepares to transform. My own journey has been similar: I have gone through a period of pause, turning inward to acknowledge my shadows, discover my light, and embrace the beauty that has always lived within me.
In this process, I have learned that true transformation is not immediate: it requires strength to sustain change and time to allow the wings to grow strong. Today, I feel like that butterfly, which after its waiting, dares to dream and open itself to life, free and light.
My piece is a reminder that every metamorphosis begins with faith in oneself. Each rebirth unfolds when we find the courage to look inward and embrace the life that is patiently waiting to emerge.
