This work of art was designed and hand-stitched by Flora Tejaxún Chuy, a member of the Sumpango, Sacatepéquez embroidery group.

Hand embroidered cushion cover: 12x20 inches.

Materials:

The base is made of recycled indigo corte.
The design is crafted with cotton thread and features a small border known as 'vena' (trim), made of recycled 'corte' in color.
The back is made of recycled indigo corte fabric.

Made in Guatemala.

Materials

The pillow cloth is handwoven traditional recycled indigo fabric (corte) with subtle blue stripes. The embroidery is done with a variety of threads and stitches. There is a hidden zipper on the back side allowing for easy washing. Pillow insert is not included.

Her favorite aspects of being an artist at Multicolores involve drawing doves, creating stories, and designing. She takes pleasure in thoughtfully selecting colors to ensure they stand out in her work.

She draws inspiration from books, conversations with her colleagues, observations of everything around her, as well as from fairs and traditions.

Flora feels proud of having a good income; it has helped her with some household expenses and her child’s education.
