"Beauty That Blossoms"
Art of being: A self portrait in Rug Hooking
By Dominga Carmelina Huix Cotí
For a long time, I was taught that I had to look beautiful for others. Today, I have learned to honor my beauty for my own well-being, to care for myself as an act of self-love.
My work reflects that leap between the past and the present: I used to live concerned with others’ gazes, but now I listen to and prioritize the voice within me. This change, which might seem subtle, has profoundly transformed the way I exist in the world.
Today, I feel more confident in who I am because I live in alignment with my essence. And when you walk in harmony with your truth, life takes on new dimensions: everything is perceived with more peace, more confidence, and a beauty that radiates from within.
