"Blooming to Find Myself"
Art of being: A self portrait in Rug Hooking
By Irma Elizabeth de Léon Vargas de Sazo
For my portrait, I drew inspiration from orchids as symbols of the pursuit of truth, inner strength, and the courage to stand out. The colors of the orchids surrounding me represent emotional balance and spiritual tranquility.
During the process of creating my piece, these ideas became fundamental pillars on my journey of self-discovery. Each flower guided me with its positive energy, giving me the strength to pursue my goals and trust my inner voice, free from the fear of judgment.
I hope that, when you view my portrait, you can receive and feel the lessons that blossomed within me: the importance of pausing to listen to ourselves with honesty and allowing ourselves to grow gently. Through art, I found myself, and I hope my work can also serve as a space where you connect with your own inner light.
