Art of being: A self portrait in Embroidery
By Rosa Lidia Cubur Solloy
Butterflies have the widest visual range of any animal, even greater than humans. They inspire me to view life in the same way: from a broad perspective, taking in the whole landscape. They remind me that there is always more than what we perceive at first glance.
Through my journey of self-discovery and the act of creating my self-portrait, I have learned to expand my perspective like a butterfly. This practice has allowed me to uncover aspects of myself that were once hidden but now give meaning to my existence. The journey inward is vast, a space where I discover what truly matters for living. Through this work, I have understood that caring for my heart is what restores the joy of being.
